First creative workshop with children

WCU is sharing and creating experiences together with children! Today in Cádiz (Spain) we had a workshop at the Int. Yoga School with Irene DM and Pepe Barea Caballero from Movimiento Sol y Luna. We have traveled to the peruvian Amazon jungle “on a rocket”, we rowed down the Amazon river, rolled over logs and crossed a river with alligators, we have cut logs and made a fire. We have found jungle animals, climbed trees, bathed under a waterfall, drank coconut water and ate bananas. We got lost, entered a cave and found a secret map to the Witotos tribe. We visited them and learned about their culture with Mariano grandfather, who spoke Quechua to us!
We have learned about plants, seeds, fruits and how to make colors to paint using plants and minerals. We have danced and sung with maracas and thoroughly enjoyed an unforgettable adventure. 🙂 If you are interested in organizing creative workshop experiences, contact us: worldculturesunited@gmail.com

New connections!

World Cultures United has been connecting latitudes today! 🙂

We are very happy to announce that we will be visiting and documenting the installations and labour of two cultural associations in Iquitos that are doing an amazing labour for the children-youth community in Iquitos: Asociación cultural La Restinga and Asociación Cultural ETSA

The Salt of the Earth

A couple of months ago, Anastasia and I were sharing a journey through Earth when watching the documentary film about the great Sebastiao Salgado “The Salt of the Earth” by Wim Wenders. After the movie, we were convinced about going to Peru and starting this project seriously.
We have no words to describe this film, but there is this link where it´s possible to watch it online for free without registration.   Thanks to Sebastiao Salgado for being an amazing and inspiring human being, a master photographer, a real utopian!

Inspired!

We continue preparing our trip, collecting info and networking. New website updates will come! In the meanwhile, here is another recommended reading by our guide Nicolas, which is keeping Irene inspired for sketching. Exciting story so far! 🙂 Good night to all of you!
